SFI Launch Highlights: SBIRS GEO-3 on ULA Atlas V 401
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — United Launch Alliance (ULA) sent the third Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS GEO 3) satellite to a geosynchronous orbit on Friday, Jan. 20, at 7:42 p.m. EST (00:42 GMT). The flight was the first Cape launch of the year and marked what could be the start of a year with as many as 30 launches.
