• Delta IV launches WGS-9 to expand defense communications

  CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — After a number of postponements, and a technical glitch at T-minus 4 minutes, United Launch Alliance's (ULA) Delta IV Medium+ (5,4) rocket finally got off the ground with the Department of Defense's ninth Wideband Global SATCOM satellite (WGS-9). The after twilight launch took place at 8:18 p.m. EDT March 18 (00:18 GMT March 19), 2017, from Space Launch Complex 37.

  CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — After a delay of more than one week, United Launch Alliance (ULA) is preparing to launch the ninth planned Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS-9) spacecraft aboard a Delta IV Medium+ (5,4) from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station’s Space Launch Complex (SLC) 37 on March 18, 2017.

  CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — United Launch Alliance announced Saturday, March 11, that the Delta IV Medium+ (5,4) rocket carrying the ninth Wideband Global SATCOM satellite would lift off no earlier than March 17. The reason provided was Eastern Range availability.
