    Lighting the skies above the jungles of Kourou, French Guiana, an Arianespace Vega rocket lifted off from the Kourou Space Centre's ELV at 10:42 p.m. GFT (8:42 p.m. EST) on November 7 (01:42 GMT on Nov. 8), 2017. The payload for this flight was the MOHAMMED VI–A satellite which Vega sent on its way to a Sun-synchronous orbit.

    Arianespace is ready to launch the MOHAMMED VI–A satellite on behalf of the Kingdom of Morocco on November 7, 2017, at 10:42 p.m. local time (01:42 GMT Nov. 8). The spacecraft is slated to lift off from the Guiana Space Centre's Vega Launch Complex (SLV) and will mark the 10th flight of the year for the Courcouronnes, Essonne, France-based firm.

    KOUROU, French Guiana — Like an arrow shot into the sky, a Vega rocket leapt off the pad at Guyana Space Center's Vega Launch Complex (SLV), carrying the Göktürk-1 into orbit. Arianespace's tenth mission of the year, designated VV08, took off on Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at 13:51 GMT and successfully inserted Göktürk-1 into a Sun-synchronous orbit (SSO) at 14:49 GMT.

    Arianespace is gearing up for its tenth mission of the year that will launch the Göktürk-1 Earth-observing spacecraft for the Turkish Armed Forces. The satellite will be launched by the company’s light-lift Vega booster on Dec. 5 at 13:51 GMT (8:51 a.m. EST) from the Vega Launch Complex (SLV) in Kourou, French Guiana.

    Arianespace has successfully conducted its seventh mission of the year on Thursday, Sept. 15, sending PerúSAT-1 spacecraft and four SkySat micro-satellites into space atop a Vega launcher. The rocket lifted off at 10:43 p.m. local time on Sept. 15 (9:43 p.m. EDT; 1:43 GMT on Sept. 16), from the Vega Launch Complex (SLV) in Kourou, French Guiana.

    Arianespace is gearing up for the seventh launch of the Vega rocket in its series, which will place into orbit PerúSAT-1 and four SkySat satellites. The launcher is scheduled to lift off from the Vega Launch Complex (SLV) in Kourou, French Guiana, at 10:43 p.m. local time on Sept. 15 (9:43 p.m. EDT; 1:43 GMT on Sept. 16).

  • Arianespace announces busy 2016 launch manifest

    European commercial launch provider Arianespace has announced this week a busy 2016 launch manifest, targeting up to 11 missions this year. The company plans to conduct a record number of eight flights of its workhorse Ariane 5 heavy-lift vehicle. This year's launch schedule also includes two launches of the lightweight Vega rocket, and one using the medium-lift Soyuz booster.

  • LISA Pathfinder launched on gravitational experiment

    After a one-day delay, the LISA Pathfinder mission was successfully launched on board a Vega rocket. The mission took to the skies early Thursday morning at 1:04 a.m. local time (04:04 GMT) on Dec. 3, 2015, from Europe’s spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.

  • ESA’s LISA Pathfinder mission delayed

    ESA has delayed their VV06 launch campaign for the flight of the LISA Pathfinder spacecraft. The Vega rocket to be used for the mission has developed an issue requiring engineering analysis before the launch can move forward. Launch had been slated for Dec. 2 at 21:00 GFT - it is unclear when the flight might occur.
