  • Vector, Virginia Space announce upcoming orbital launches from Wallops

    NewSpace continues to make progress in terms of expanding its presence in the establishment. This past week, it was announced that nanosatellite launch service provider Vector had inked a deal with the Virginia Commercial Space Flight Authority to conduct three commercial flights out of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS) over the course of the next two years with possibly five additional launches in the offing.

  • Vector successfully launches first smallsat rocket

    Smallsat startup Vector Space Systems launched its first engineering test vehicle on May 3, 2017, from Friends of Amateur Rocketry site in Mojave, California. The Vector-R vehicle flew on a suborbital trajectory on only its first stage, which was powered by a 5,000-pound-force (22-kilonewton) thrust engine with a 3-D-printed injector.

  • Space Florida Vector R-ing in on new launch provider from Cape Canaveral

    CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — Space Florida and Vector, a company with roots deep in the NewSpace movement unveiled the Vector-R rocket at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's Space Launch Complex 46 (SLC-46) held on Saturday, March 25, 2017.
