  • SpaceX hopes to return Falcon 9 to service with Orbcomm mission

    CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla -- SpaceX is working toward returning the firm's Falcon 9 launch vehicle to service within the next few weeks. SpaceX announced on Oct. 16 it would return the Falcon 9 to service on the upcoming flight of 11 Orbcomm satellites. If successful, it will mark a rapid turnaround from a recent setback that the company encountered.

  • Sierra Nevada Corporation transfers operation of six Orbital satellites to ORBCOMM

    The first six satellites of the ORBCOMM Generation Two (OG2) constellation, designed and built by Sierra Nevada Corporation’s (SNC) Space Systems, have completed all on-orbit checkout procedures, culminating in the transfer of operations from SNC to ORBCOMM in mid-September. The six satellites have already begun providing greater network efficiency for ORBCOMM’s global customers.
