Days after threading the needle with weather to launch, SpaceX’s CRS-18 Dragon spacecraft rendezvoused and berthed with the International Space Station.
Two members of the International Space Station’s (ISS) Expedition 48 crew will be performing a spacewalk this Friday to install an International Docking Adapter (IDA) on the forward end of the station. The docking ring was brought up on SpaceX’s CRS-9 Dragon mission and has been sitting inside the spacecraft's trunk since arriving at the orbiting outpost one month ago.
Bringing 5,000 pounds (2,300 kilograms) of supplies and a new International Docking Adapter (IDA), SpaceX’s CRS-9 Dragon cargo ship arrived at the International Space Station (ISS). The spacecraft was captured and berthed to the outpost at 9:03 a.m. CDT (14:03 GMT) July 20.
