Sun n Fun celebrates 40 years this week

LAKELAND, Fla — It has been a mainstay for aviation enthusiasts since the 70s. This year, the Sun n Fun International Fly-in and Expo is set to loudly announce why is has become such a fixture to Central Florida. The first Sun n Fun was held in 1974 and has been popular attraction for both aviation enthusiasts and the general public alike.
The United States Navy Blue Angels will be making a welcomed appearance at this year’s air show. They will not be performing alone. Sun n Fun will also see the following aerial performers in action: The Misty Blues Parachute Team, Rob Holland, 4ce- Rob Holland and Matt Chapman, Tiger Team Mark Sorenson and Buck Roetman, Patty Wagstaff, Julie Clark, the Immortals, Justin Lewis, Dan Marcotte, Steve Oliver, Jim Peitz, Gary Rower, Nikolay Timofeev, Gary Ward, the Warbirds, Paul McCowan Parachute Team, Michael Wiskus, Jerry Kerby, Matt Chapman, Michael Goulian, David Martin, Gene Soucy and others.
Not to be outdone, the Special Operations Para-Commandos, Aerostars, Geico Skytypers, F-22 heritage flight and other teams will also be demonstrating their skills come the weekend.

Sun n Fun is a popular annual event, those planning on attending should make sure to arrive early – and stay late. The Air Show will have evening events as well. Kids under 10 get in for free. For children between the ages of 10 and 17 a daily ticket runs $15, where a weekly ticket will set you back $60. For adults, daily tickets are $37 and weekly tickets $150.
