The Eighth Annual University Rover Challenge (URC), the world’s premier robotics competition for college students organized by the Mars Society, will be held May 29-31, 2014 at the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) in southern Utah.

URC challenges student teams to design and build the next generation of Mars rovers that will one day work alongside astronauts exploring the Red Planet.

“URC is now open for registration. We anticipate a very strong international field this year, building off momentum from the 2013 competition,” said URC Director Kevin Sloan.

For more details, please visit the URC page. Members of the media are welcome to attend the URC competition in Utah, but must register with the Mars Society’s Media & Public Relations Department.
