Sun ‘n Fun is an international fly-in and airshow held annually at the Lakeland-Linder Regional Airport in Florida. The event boasts an impressive roster of performers and hosts a staggering number of private aircraft from around the globe. Last year, Sun ‘n Fun drew an estimated 200,000 visitors as well as thousands of aircraft. Attendees each year include a wide range of experimental aircraft, vintage planes, warbirds, home-built planes, and military displays. There are also representatives and exhibitors on hand from various aerospace firms, a weekend car show, luncheons, forums, workshops and more.
This year’s airshow performances were headlined by the Breitling Jet Team–making their debut in the United States–and the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. Daily airshows are held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. EDT and will continue through this weekend. Today’s show will pick up again at 8:00 p.m. EDT with special night performances and a grand finale with fireworks.
