Launched atop a United Launch Alliance Atlas V 541 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's Space Launch Complex 41 in Florida on November 26, 2011, NASA's Mars Science Laboratory rover Curiosity touched down at Mars' Gale Crater on August 6, 2012. The one-ton, nuclear powered rover has since explored to Red Planet's past looking for evidence the flash-frozen world might have once supported microbial life. Photos courtesy: Mike Deep, Jason Rhian
