A United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V 401 rocket was used to send the classified CLIO mission to orbit. The rocket was launched from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's Space Launch Complex 41 (SLC-41) located in Florida. The launch window extended for approximately two hours and 26 minutes and opened on September 16, 2014. CLIO marked the 49th launch of ULA's Atlas V, the 25th flight of the 401 configuration of the rocket and the 60th United Launch Alliance flight from the Cape.
