CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- SpaceX launched a 'Full Thrust' Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's Space Launch Complex 40 in Florida on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. The mission saw the Hawthorne, California-based NewSpace company conduct its fifth launch of the year (in less than three months). The payload for this mission, the 13,431 lbs ( 6,092 kilogram) Hispasat 30W-6 communications satellite was sent to a geostationary transfer orbit. The satellite had been scheduled for launch in February, but was delayed due to issues with the pressurization with the rocket's payload fairing (its nosecone). Photos courtesy: Mike Howard
