In November of 2016, the operators of the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex (Delaware North) located in Florida put a mockup of NASA's new crew-rated spacecraft, Orion, on display. Orion, produced by prime contractor Lockheed Martin, was first launched on December 5, 2014 atop a United Launch Alliance Delta IV Heavy rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's Space Launch Complex 37 on Exploration Flight Test 1. It is next scheduled to take to the skies of the Sunshine State in late 2018 on Exploration Mission 1 (EM-1). atop the space agency's new super heavy-lift rocket, the Space Launch System (SLS).
