Students from dozens of universities across the United States gathered at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex for NASA’s 2017 Robotic Mining Competition (NRMC). Students showcased and competed using a wide array of robotic concepts, which could potentially be used by the space agency on actual future off-Earth mining. NASA's current Kennedy Space Center Director, Robert D. Cabana was on hand to meet these times and to encourage their efforts. Photos courtesy: Michael McCabe
