During the event, the NASA administrator at the time, former shuttle astronaut and Marine Corps General Charles Bolden as well as Kennedy Space Center's Director, Robert Cabana (also a former Marine and shuttle commander) detailed the agency's status at the time. On display behind agency officials was a Lockheed Martin Orion spacecraft, Boeing CST-100 Starliner pressure vessel and flown SpaceX Dragon cargo freighter.
