Bulgariasat-1 (Falcon 9)

BULGARIASAT-1On Friday, June 23, 2017, Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) launched one of its "Full Thrust" Falcon 9 rockets with the Bulgariasat-1 communications satellites to orbit. The rocket was scheduled to launch at 2:10 p.m. (18:10 GMT) from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, however, the launch time was pushed back an hour to 3:10 p.m. EDT. This marked the first satellite launched for Bulgaria. Bulgariasat-1 was built by SSL and is based off of the company's 1300 series platform, it has a payload of 30 Broadcast Satellite Service (BSS) Ku-band transponders and two Fixed Satellite Service (FSS) Ku-band transponders. The satellite will reside at 1.9 degrees East longitude and provide direct-to-home services to Europe, the Balkans, the Middle East and other regions.
